Hello and thank you for stopping by! I've been working for the last few years to build this shop to where it's at today, with many stickers of my artwork to choose from and an ocassional hand drawn greeting card or card sets will also appear from time to time!

I titled it "Transition" and although yes, it seems very prosaic for this series with the butterflies, I still felt it fit just right for this one. I'm having a lot of fun exploring using teal/turquoise with my usual gold in my paintings. Please take a look and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

While I don't generally do commissions I made an exeception for someone who really had their heart set on one of the pieces that was for sale at one of the past art shows I participated in.

The photo below is just a small part of the whole Tiny Art event, and the two paintings shown below are the ones I submitted. After the event I learned that both pieces were some of the first ones purchased that day. I'm always grateful to be able to explore this part of my creativity and thankful for the people who came to support. 
I'm still working on creating inventory that will be available for purchase on my site, it's taking some time in between my other commitments so thank you for your patience!
This past event was so much fun and I look forward to participating in more events in the future!

Hello!
I finally decided on what submissions to send in to Nevada Fine Arts!
Recently I've been doing a lot of butterfly pieces (which butterflies haven't really been a favorite of mine really, but creating these have been incredibly fun) so below you'll see which 2 I chose to send off in hopes of one of them getting shown.
These are 4x4's done on cold press watercolor paper, built with layers of acrylic paint, with the butterfly being done on a separate piece of watercolor paper and glued to the square.
Pieces like these will soon be availabe in my shop (I'm working on a larger inventory right now!) and they will be available for you to purchase.
In addition I will be at the Oceanside Museum of Art on February the 1st to view their Teeny Tiny Art exhibit, I'm excited to see all of the tiny art on display and see some friends while I'm there!

Happy Sunday, everyone!
The last paintings I focused on were 5x5 for the Oceanside Museum of Art, now I'm working towards 4x4's for Nevada Fine Arts! I really am struggling with what to submit, because I love textured and layered artwork but I also have recently focused on watercolors. I'm a bit torn so I'm working on 2 pieces (one of each style) and seeing which one I feel is the best style to represent me at this time.
I'll post a picture of which one I decide on for you all to see!
In the mean time this is one of the 4x4's I finished a couple of days ago and I really love the thick texture and the contrast between colors. I used white under both the gold and the Payne's Gray to give subtle highlights. In the near future I'll be adding tiny art to my shop.

The Oceanside Museum of Art is hosting their Teeny Tiny Art Mart in a few weeks! This was the project I was working on in the last update posted before this one.
In person viewing of this anonymous art event is January 28th through February 1st!
Each piece is done by an anonymous artist until after the purchase is made, and when you purchase a piece the proceeds go to the museum itself and the art education programs they have there, you'll also find out who made the piece you purchased!
I hope to visit during that weekend and seeing all of the pieces submitted for this fun event!

I'm currently in the middle of a project with a bit of a deadline so I'm finding myself bringing in the new year with so much to do already, but despite the busyness there's still a goal and a direction.
I don't have the habit of making resolutions but over time I just try to be better and progress no matter the time of the year. Changes don't have to occur in accordance with holidays but if it works for you then use that opportunity to do what you need to do.
I hope you all had a good Christmas and got to spend it with the ones you love, and I wish you a Happy New Year!

I just finished this piece for an awesome friend of mine!
This is a 5 x 7 done with mixed mediums on coldpress watercolor paper.
I contemplated adding a Christmas theme to it such as stockings hung on the mantle or a small tree instead of books, but my friend has books stacked on her mantle so I decided to keep the books.
If you've taken a peek at my Sticky Skeleton YTube channel you might have seen a piece I did with a butterfly on a metallic purple and gold background, that one is also a gift for another friend.
This month has been crazy but good. "Yeah, still good." (in Stitch's voice).

This month has already been so busy but it has also felt so productive!
I hope it is the same for you.
While I'm in the middle of a currect project (Cats On Shelves) I have also decided to jump into a new project (yes, yes, life of an artist, especially of one who needs to work on focusing better and all that lol) and have started freehand drawing butterflies and creating collage art with them.
These are so fun to create and I love piecing everything together. Some of the butterflies I have attached to wooden panels and some to heavyweight mixed media papers.
The piece below is acrylic paint on a 5x5 wooden panel, the butterfly was drawn on a cold press watercolor paper and I used gel meduim to glue the butterfly onto the panel. After the gel medium dried I sprayed a UV resistent sealant over it and let that cure for a couple of days.

This is one of my recent experimental pieces and I'm not sure how I feel about the end result. 🤷🏻♀️ I decided to not paint over it in the end and keep it as a reference to myself on what I like about it and what I don't think worked out so well. 🤔

I drew this a few years ago not knowing how much people would love these crazy designs I did. So I ended up making note cards, each with their own unique design on the front and giving them as birthday cards to my friends.

I'd also like to share a couple of pieces I've finished. I didn't mean for them to match but they do! It seems as though I've been stuck in this phase of doing vertical stripes but I love it.
The larger piece has small squares under the layers to make it a very subtle collage piece, and the mini is without collage squares but still has the same layering process.
With each one I finish my favorite part is always how beautiful the gold contrasts the black. 😍

I can't truthfully say I love this piece but it turned out in a way that I didn't expect, and the unexpected is nice sometimes because I don't always know where I'll end up.
Sometimes you have a plan in mind and during execution you decide to pivot because, well, why not, and sometimes that pivot allows you to succeed in your attempt and other times (for me most of the time it seems) it just warrants a do-over.
Sometimes I have to remind myself to just experiment and see what will work, which almost everything does, it's more just a matter of do I like the reults or not?
Sometimes you just need to play around without any added pressure from yourself or external sources and tune in to how it's making you feel during the process.
I recently participated in an art workshop where one of the tasks was to make "ugly art" and it was challenging to paint with colors that don't compliment each other and just let it live and not black it all out like I usually do.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this piece, I enjoy it too albiet it not being one of my favorites but here we are. Hope you are having a productive day and thnak you for stopping by!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
I spent time with friends and family and overall had a nice relaxing weekend myself! I also was able to get some new paints and over the past several weeks have been immersing myself in online art workshops trying to learn new techniques and brush up on forgotten ones.
These are the most recent pieces I have finished, all done with acrylics and on heavyweight paper. I really have fallen in love with this layering and texurizing style and have made abstract art part of my work.

I have really enjoyed doing this style of abstract paintings and have done so many smaller pieces for special occasion cards. So far I've used gold, metallic purple, rose gold, and the most recent (pictured below) of metallic blue with black and white.
This is another chapter of this art journey, finding what speaks and learning new compositions.

I've been getting supplies for an art class I signed up for to learn how to do collage art, and since I had extra materials I decided to experiment with spray painting.
This is done on heavy 300gms cardstock so they hold up to the paint and are actually ok to seal if I want to.

Since the beginning of creating this art business my main focus has been on headspace and mental wellness. Past circumstances and unhealthy enviroments I grew up in definitely influence a lot of my pieces. I hope in some small way they help those who see them and somehow, just maybe, help others to express in some way how they feel and possibly help them to communicate the type of headspace they're in. I know this style isn't for everyone but if you're here, thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my little blog here. =)

This is one of the pieces I recently finished, another one that follows my mental health theme with skull art! A long time ago I saw a quote that resonated with me quite a bit, and while I don't remember the quote exactly it basically said that this time of the year was a reminder to let the dead things go.
The last few years have been a bit rough for several different reasons and when this quote popped into my head I thought of all the leaves that are on the ground now, and how refreshing it is to let the things and relationships/people go that no longer are helping us grow.
Sometimes the relationships that don't help us grow aren't always worth cutting out of our life but not holding so tightly to everything can be so freeing.

I have just added a new sticker in the Sticky Skeleton sticker shop!!
This one is a remake of an older piece I did several years ago during a hard time. It was a time of my life where I was realizing that sometimes we don't get closure for some of the things that happen to us or how some people have treated us. Sometimes in spite of no explanations we have to still continue on and find where our purpose is.
I don't often name my pieces but this one means a lot to me and I named it Find Your Light. I'm excited to be able to present it to all of you in sticker form (finally!) and like all new additions it's in the shop on sale! You can also use the code STICKYHOLIDAY through the holidays on all of your orders!

Happy Thursday!
This is based off of an older piece I did several years ago about finding the light within yourself while trying to navigate through mental health issues. Sometimes you don't get closure for the things that have happened, sometimes we just have to move on and find our light.
I hand wrote the title next to the candle and cleaned it up a little digitally before adding it to the image.
Personally I love this one because of the message, maybe in the future I'll turn this one into a print.

This is the last art prompt for this month's Slowtember.
In light of recent reported news about the ones adopted as children from Korea over the years I decided to take a slightly deeper take on the prompt "Wish" because I was one of those adopted from Korea.. Throughout my childhood I was continually abused by my adopted mom and over time the "relationship" between us fell apart. Over time the rest of that immediate family eventually showed me how dysfunctional their relationships were with each other and with me and I'm no longer tied to that.
My Wish has always been to be treated like a person, an equal, and an individual. 
There was a lot of different ways I could have portrayed the mixed feelings I have had over the whole of my life but instead of making too graphic (another piece in the future perhaps) I chose something more simple that could speak for all of the ones who were treated as less than human.
I hope one day soon your Wish comes true.

Hello, all! The prompt for this one was "Rain."
I had a lot of different ideas for this one that I doodled in my sketch book but due to a busy weekend I went with a more simpler piece because of time. 
These art prompts have been nice to have this month, one every few days is less crazy for me than a daily piece (partly because I always try to do too much when it's supposed to just be a simple daily sketch 😅) but it's been fun so far.
There's only one prompt left for the month and then I'll have to decide if I'm going to find another list or take a break.
I also noticed that butterflies seem to be popular right now (not sure why the uptick in butterfly art and posts....?) but if you're into butterflies you know I got some stickers in my shop and a few different ones to choose from 😃

Happy Tuesday!
Today was another hard one for me personally, I've really had my sweet kitty on my mind lately because I just miss him so much. So many people have dealt with grief and we all know it comes in waves and sometimes those waves crash harder than other times. ❤️🩹
The art prompt this time was "Pet."
I'm still not great at drawing cats but maybe some day they'll look better!
Call me crazy but his favorite color seemed to be blue because he'd always choose the blue blanket over the other colors and all of the blankets were the same material and size.
I miss you, B. You were my best friend for so many years. Every day still hurts without you. 💔

Happy Friday!
The prompt this time is "Shadow."
This one made me think of my kitty who passed away last year.
He was like my shadow and I miss him very much. I named him Bagheera since he was a Bombay cat, his breed naturally lended itself to this name.
Doing this piece affected me in different ways the whole time I was drawing and I definitely felt his absence quite strongly today while I finished up.
I have posted this in my facebook group Dark Spark Society (which is open to all, especially if you're an artist who likes to express your mental health through art, but anyone can join!)
To be honest I don't draw animals too often, and I love cats but am not the best at drawing them! This piece features one of the rare times my cats have turned out ok.
I don't miss cleaning up spilled litter on the floor every day but it was definitely a small price to pay for the companionship my kitty gave me for so many years.

I don't usually do art prompts but I've been in a bit of a slump lately, so I found something similar to the well known "Inktober" but for September, and instead of a daily piece, it's every few days (whew! less pieces to do in between my every day life things to do!) 😅
For the start of this month the prompt was "turnip" so, true to my Sticky Skeleton artwork, I did it in skull form. 💀😊
It was actually a pretty fun little piece! I hope you enjoy this one and the the rest that are coming this month! I hope to stay consistent and update you all every few days!

So a follow up to my last update, I started a second piece to match my most recent watercolor and fine line piece (see update below this one) but part way through I took a step back and decided it wasn't turning out how I was hoping it would.
I ended up feeling annoyed about it, tore it up and left it on the floor. My sweet pup thought I was truly upset and came to comfort me. 😊💕
While the comfort was nice I wasn't too terribly upset, just annoyed and have started on a different piece again. Hopefully this one will turn out a little closer to what I imagine.
I watched a YT video that the artist called her annoyances "artistic tantrums" and I hear that in my head in her voice every time now when I want to throw out my pieces. 😄
Watercolor is not my strong point but I have really enjoyed using it in my mixed media art!

I've been doing some watercolor pieces recently, adding some fine lines with ink and just having fun with it. 🙂 Although I'm not completely satisfied with how these are turning out, I'm still going to finish the ones I have in mind and then see how I feel about them all 😅

Happy Friday!
I've been in a bit of a slump, artist block and all, you know. Slowly getting it together again though! 🙂
Today to help get back on track I decided to go back to my Sticky Skeleton beginnings which is just black and gray skulls. Usually I like to add some pop or color somewhere or theme the skull depending on the closest holiday, but today I opted for simple art. 
I've also been entertaining the idea of doing a limited run of a butterfly sticker pack which would include all 3 of my butterflies in one or possibly a sticker giveaway....? Anyway, still mulling over ideas to draw in more eyes on my artwork, as always. 😊

I finally have my new butterfly sticker in my shop please check it out!
When a new product is listed in my shop I always have it as a "new product" sale and this one is the same! It is approx. 3x3 vinyl and fade resistant and waterproof. These stickers are great as the ever popular waterbottle sticker, on your vehicle (the holographic and glitter ones look pretty awesome on a car window, just sayin'!), laptop, computer tower, or wherever you like to slap them!

Hope you all had a productive week!
I worked on a lot of paintings this week, finished up one but have several works still in progress 😅 Artist life and all, you know 😊
I have another sticker to add my shop soon which is another variation of my butterfly sticker! This one is also a vinyl die cut sticker, and is in my traditional black and white theme like most of my stickers are 🙂 So there will soon be 3 variations: holographic, glitter, and regular for my butterflies. I decided to add this one to my shop since my butterflies have been so popular.

Recently I've had a little bit of trouble with my computer so I'll be adding to my shop within the next few days! Thank you for your patience 💕
In the mean time, this is the finished painting from this week and I'm happy to say it's currently hanging on my wall already!

Yesterday I did some painting which was nice to switch it up from pencil and ink. When I finished last night I was somewhat satisfied but when I saw my pieces this morning I wasn't satisfied anymore. This happens to me probably too often, especially with my painting. Maybe it's because it's not my primary medium.
Can you relate? 😅
Anyway, I ended up washing my canvases and I'm now waiting for them to dry completely before I start again.

Hello, everyone!
Today is a bit sad for me personally, it marks one year since my sweet kitty died of cancer. He was a Bombay cat and was my best friend through a lot of hard times. He had a great amount of emotional intellegence and was always very affectionate to me, especially on hard days.
He is truly missed every day. 💔
Because of how difficult this time of year has become I did slack a little on creating some new artwork for you all to see, but soon I'll have some more to show.
